RAINPOINT ICS006 – Maintenance & Care

This article provides routine battery, connector, display, and storage guidance for the RAINPOINT ICS006 Water Flow Meter.

Proper installation and regular connection checks help maintain reliable water-flow measurement and reduce leakage.

Battery Care

The ICS006 uses: 1 × CR2032 battery

Replace the battery when the low-battery indicator appears.

Battery replacement

  1. Remove the detachable display from the meter body.
  2. Open the battery cover.
  3. Remove the existing CR2032 battery.
  4. Install a new CR2032 battery according to the polarity marking.
  5. Reinstall the battery cover securely.
  6. Reinstall the display into the flow meter body.

Make sure the display is fully seated after battery replacement.

Connector Care

Use the flow meter in the Out-of-Box Pre-Assembled order whenever possible.

Do not separate the center assembly made up of: Fittings 2 + 3 + 4

When reconnecting:

  • Confirm the correct USA or EU fitting.
  • Do not force mismatched threads.
  • Keep the fitting sequence unchanged.
  • Check for leakage before regular use.

Display Care

The detachable display must be installed securely into the flow meter body.

If the display is not firmly installed:

  • FLOW MODE may not display correctly.
  • Measurement accuracy may be affected.

After removing the display for battery replacement, make sure it is fully reinstalled.

Winter Storage

The ICS006 manual does not provide a dedicated winter-storage procedure.

The specified water-temperature range is: 41°F–104°F (5°C–40°C)

Use the meter only within the specified operating conditions.

If the product will not be used during cold weather, disconnect it from the watering system and store it in a dry, protected location.

Long-Term Storage

If the ICS006 will not be used for an extended period:

  • Remove it from the watering line.
  • Allow remaining water to drain.
  • Dry the exterior.
  • Keep the fittings together in their correct order.
  • Store the device and adapters in a dry location.
  • Remove the CR2032 battery if the device will remain unused for a prolonged period.
  • Before reuse, inspect the fittings and reinstall the meter in the correct water-flow direction.

General Care Tips

Keep the connector sequence correct

USA and EU fittings use different thread standards.

Do not interchange them.

Check for leakage

Leakage may affect measurement accuracy.

Keep the water-flow direction correct

Always follow the indicated water-flow direction.

Keep the display firmly installed

A loose display may affect normal readings.

Do not exceed the specified pressure range

Use within: 0.5–8 bar (7.25–116 psi)

Use within the specified water-temperature range

41°F–104°F (5°C–40°C)
