RAINPOINT IK160 – Overview & Getting Started

This page serves as the support and reference center for the RAINPOINT IK160 Outdoor Solar Automatic Drip Irrigation Pump Kit.

If the model number on your product is IK160, you are in the correct place.

What is the IK160?

The RAINPOINT IK160 is an automatic drip irrigation pump kit designed to draw clean cold water from a water container and deliver it directly to plants through a drip irrigation system.

The pump uses an integrated solar panel for daily charging and also supports USB-C charging when sunlight is insufficient.

Watering schedules are set directly on the pump using two control knobs:

  • HOW OFTEN: Sets the watering interval.
  • HOW LONG: Sets the watering duration and can also be turned to OFF to stop watering.

The pump can be installed using the included ground stake, wall-mounting bracket, or detachable back hook, allowing the system to adapt to different watering locations.

Key Capabilities Include

  • Automatic scheduled watering with adjustable watering frequency and duration.
  • ONE TIME watering mode for one-time watering or system testing.
  • Solar charging through the integrated 5V / 1.5W solar panel.
  • USB-C backup charging using a 5V / 1A power source.
  • 30 L/h flow rate for drip irrigation applications.
  • Dual-size tubing system: 1/6" (4 mm) main tubing and 1/8" (3 mm) branch tubing.
  • Targeted drip watering using the included micro drip emitters.
  • Anti-siphon protection to help prevent unwanted backflow and siphoning.
  • Flexible installation with ground stake, wall mount, or back hook.

Before You Start

For reliable operation, check the following before setting up the IK160:

1. Use clean cold water only.
The inlet filter should remain installed to help prevent impurities from entering the system.

2. Position the pump at or above the water level of the reservoir.
Do not place the pump below the reservoir water level. Correct placement helps prevent siphoning, backflow, leaks, or unintended watering.

3. Keep the installation height difference within 6.6 ft (2 m).
Excessive height difference may reduce water flow.

4. Make sure the inlet tubing and filter are correctly installed.
The filter should be attached to the inlet tubing and submerged in the water container.

5. Install the anti-siphon valve in the correct flow direction.
Install it on the outlet tubing near the pump.

6. Fully insert all tubing into the IN and OUT ports.
Loose tubing connections may cause water leakage.

7. Place the solar panel in direct sunlight whenever possible.
Avoid unnecessary shading. If sunlight is insufficient, the pump can be charged through USB-C.

8. Test the system before regular use.
Use ONE TIME mode or select a normal watering interval and duration, then check all tubing and fittings for leaks before leaving the system unattended.
