The current HCS026FRF documentation covers one hardware model of the RAINPOINT HCS026FRF Smart Soil Moisture Sensor.
The use of different compatible Gateways does not represent a different sensor version.
How to Identify Your HCS026FRF Soil Moisture Sensor
You can identify your HCS026FRF Smart Soil Moisture Sensor by checking the model name on the product label and the LCD display, circular button, and single soil probe with the “BEST” insertion mark. No disassembly or tools are required.
Does the Version Affect Usage?
The current HCS026FRF manual does not identify different sensor hardware versions.
The HCS026FRF can be used with either:
HWG023WBRF Gateway or HWG040WLBRF Gateway
The Gateway model does not change the basic HCS026FRF soil-moisture measurement method described in the manual.
Installation Note
Regardless of which compatible Gateway is used:
- Insert the sensor to the BEST position.
- Avoid stones around the sensing area.
- Do not force the probe directly into hard soil.
- Select the correct Soil Type in RainPoint Home.
- Keep the sensor close to the Gateway during initial pairing.
