If the ICS518 does not display or measure water flow as expected, the information below outlines common operating conditions and recommended actions.
These conditions are usually related to installation, water-flow direction, connector configuration, display installation, or battery status rather than product defects.
Condition 1: FLOW MODE does not show real-time water flow
Possible Cause
The display may not be fully installed into the flow meter body.
What to Do
- Check that the display is correctly positioned.
- Make sure it is firmly seated in the main flow meter body.
- Turn on the water again.
- Return to FLOW MODE and check the reading.
Condition 2: Measurement appears inaccurate
Check the following:
- The display is installed correctly.
- The display is firmly seated.
- Water is flowing in the correct direction.
- There is no leakage.
- The internal water path is completely filled with water during measurement.
The specified ±3% tolerance is based on the test conditions described in the manual, so actual installation conditions can also influence measurement performance.
Condition 3: Water leaks from a connection
Possible Cause
The connector may be in the wrong position or may not match the required thread standard.
What to Do
- Check whether the correct USA or EU connector is being used.
- Check that the connector is correctly aligned.
- Reinstall the connection.
- Confirm that the product remains in the intended pre-assembled configuration.
- Use the supplied sealing tape where appropriate for the matching threaded connection.
Condition 4: The screen turns off automatically
This is normally the Energy-saving Standby function.
If there is no water flow and no button operation for more than approximately 1 minute, the display automatically turns off.
Water flow or button operation will reactivate the device.
Condition 5: The unit cannot be switched
Unit switching is available from: FLOW MODE
What to Do
- Switch to FLOW MODE.
- Press and hold the button for approximately 2 seconds.
- Switch between GAL and L.
Condition 6: Measurement data needs to be reset
On the following modes:
- CONSUMPTION
- AVG
- TOTAL
press and hold the button for approximately 2 seconds to reset the displayed record to zero.
Condition 7: Low-battery indicator appears
Replace the battery with: 1 × CR2032 button cell
Check that the new battery is correctly installed before reinstalling the battery cover.
