RAINPOINT ICS518 – Overview & Getting Started

What is the ICS518?

The RAINPOINT ICS518 is a hose-end high-precision flow meter designed to help monitor water flow and water consumption during garden watering.

The device provides four measurement modes:

  • FLOW MODE – Displays the current real-time water flow.
  • CONSUMPTION MODE – Measures water consumption for a single watering session.
  • AVG MODE – Displays the average daily water consumption for the previous 7 days.
  • TOTAL MODE – Displays accumulated water consumption until manually reset.

The ICS518 also supports:

  • Gallon / liter unit switching
  • Individual data reset
  • Automatic energy-saving standby
  • Low-battery indication

Before You Start

1. Install the CR2032 battery

The ICS518 uses: 1 × CR2032 button cell battery

The battery is included.

Use the supplied Battery Cover Opener to access the battery compartment.

Insert the CR2032 battery correctly and securely reinstall the battery cover.

2. Confirm the connector configuration

The ICS518 manual identifies two 3/4" faucet-end connector configurations:

  • NH Thread – USA-type
  • BSP Thread – EU-type

Use the connector configuration that matches the watering system.

3. Keep the original assembly order

Use the flow meter in its Out-of-Box Pre-Assembled order whenever possible.

Changing the connector arrangement may increase the risk of leakage or incorrect installation.

4. Confirm the water-flow direction

Install the ICS518 according to the illustrated water-flow direction.

Correct direction is important for measurement accuracy.

5. Tighten all connections

Make sure all connectors are securely installed before turning on the water.

Check for leakage during the first test.

6. Start with FLOW MODE

Briefly press the front button until FLOW MODE appears.

Turn on the water and confirm that a real-time flow value is displayed.

7. Select the preferred unit

While on FLOW MODE, press and hold the button for approximately 2 seconds to switch between:

  • GAL/Min
  • L/Min

The related water-consumption unit also changes between gallons and liters.
