RAINPOINT YMH1001 / YMH1002 – Maintenance & Care

This article provides routine cleaning, reuse, storage, and care guidance for the RAINPOINT YMH1001 and YMH1002 Seed Starter Trays.

Proper cleaning and handling help keep the trays ready for repeated seed-starting use.

Cleaning the Seed Tray

After transplanting:

1. Remove remaining soil and plant material.
2. Rinse the seed tray with clean water.
3. Remove soil or root residue from the cells.
4. Allow the tray to dry before reuse or storage.

The seed tray is designed to be durable, easy to clean, and reusable.

Cleaning the Base Tray & Humidity Dome

After each growing cycle:

• Remove remaining water and growing medium.
• Rinse the base tray.
• Clean the humidity dome.
• Allow the components to dry before stacking or storing.

Handle the humidity dome carefully during cleaning and storage.

Grow Lamp Care – YMH1001 Only

For the YMH1001 Lights Version:

• Keep the plug and cable dry.
• Keep electrical components away from water.
• Disconnect the power connection before cleaning around the grow lamp.
• Do not immerse the grow lamp or cable in water.
• Avoid prolonged direct viewing of the LED light source.

The manual specifically advises avoiding prolonged direct viewing of the LED beads, especially by infants.

Long-Term Storage

Before storing the Seed Starter Tray:

• Remove all soil and plant material.
• Rinse the reusable tray components.
• Allow all components to dry.
• Stack the trays carefully.
• Keep the labels and garden tools together.

YMH1001

Disconnect and store the USB-to-Type-C cable in a dry location.

YMH1002

No lighting cable or electrical component is included.

General Care Tips

Keep the growing medium slightly moist

Avoid allowing the soil to become completely dry during germination, but do not overwater.

Avoid waterlogging

Excessive water can leave the growing medium overly saturated.

Use the humidity dome during germination

The dome helps maintain temperature and humidity.

Provide consistent lighting

Consistent lighting is important for healthy seedling growth.

For YMH1001, use the included grow lamp after germination.

For YMH1002, provide an appropriate external light source when required.

Push seedlings out from below

Use the flexible silicone bottom to release seedlings instead of pulling them from above.

Clean the tray between growing cycles

The trays are designed to be rinsed and reused.
