RAINPOINT HTV107B + HWG009WB | 1-Zone - Maintenance & Care

This article provides routine maintenance and care guidance for the RAINPOINT HTV107B 1-Zone Wi-Fi Water Timer with HWG009WB Wi-Fi Gateway. Proper maintenance helps ensure reliable performance, extends product lifespan, and reduces common installation or usage issues.

Cleaning the Inlet Filter

To maintain stable water flow, the inlet filter should be cleaned regularly.

  • Turn off the water supply.
  • Remove the timer from the faucet.
  • Take out the inlet filter.
  • Rinse the filter with clean water to remove dirt or debris.
  • Check the filter for wear or damage and replace it if necessary.
  • Reinstall the filter horizontally in the water inlet
  • Reconnect the timer to the faucet.

Regular cleaning helps prevent debris from restricting water flow or interfering with watering schedules. The product manual recommends cleaning the filter regularly and replacing it when worn.

Winter Storage

If temperatures are expected to drop below freezing:

  • Turn off the water supply.
  • Remove the timer from the faucet.
  • Drain any remaining water from the timer.
  • Remove the batteries.
  • Store the timer indoors in a dry location.

The HTV107B should be removed from the faucet and stored indoors during freezing conditions to help prevent damage.

Long-Term Storage

If the timer will not be used for an extended period:

  • Remove all batteries from the battery compartment.
  • Make sure the battery compartment is clean and dry.
  • Clean the inlet filter and remove any remaining dirt or debris.
  • Drain and dry the timer before storage.
  • Store the timer indoors in a dry location.
  • Keep the HWG009WB Wi-Fi Gateway indoors in a dry location.

Removing batteries during long-term storage helps reduce the risk of battery leakage and damage to internal components.

General Care Tips

  • Use 4 × AA alkaline batteries only. Do not mix old and new batteries or different battery types.
  • Replace the batteries when the low-battery indicator appears.
  • Make sure the battery compartment is dry before installing replacement batteries.
  • Use the timer outdoors with cold water only.
  • Install the timer vertically to help prevent water from accumulating and entering the valve body.
  • Install the inlet filter horizontally to help prevent leakage.
  • Hand-tighten connections only. Do not use tools or overtighten.
  • Regularly inspect and clean the inlet filter. Replace it if worn.
  • Keep the timer within its operating temperature range of 37.4°F–122°F (3°C–50°C).
  • Remove the timer from the faucet and store it indoors during freezing conditions.
  • Avoid strong impact, excessive force, or immersing the product in water.
  • Keep the HWG009WB Wi-Fi Gateway indoors.
  • Keep the timer and Gateway within a reliable communication range and avoid unnecessary signal obstructions.

Placing the timer in a sheltered outdoor location can help prolong its service life. Following these practices helps maintain stable operation and reliable communication between the timer and Gateway.
