RAINPOINT ITV152 | 1-Zone – Maintenance & Care

Regular care helps maintain reliable operation of the RAINPOINT ITV152 Single-way Dual Knob Water Timer and may extend its service life.

Cleaning the Inlet Filter

The inlet filter prevents dirt and debris from entering the timer, helping maintain normal water flow and reduce the risk of clogging.

How to clean the filter:

  1. Turn off the garden faucet and disconnect the timer.
  2. Remove the filter from the water inlet.
  3. Rinse the filter thoroughly with clean running water.
  4. Reinstall the filter horizontally and make sure it is properly seated before reconnecting the timer.

Maintenance tip:

Inspect and clean the filter regularly. Replace it if it becomes worn or damaged, especially when reduced water flow or visible debris is noticed.

Winter Storage

The ITV152 is not designed for use in freezing conditions.

  • Remove the timer when temperatures fall below 37.4°F (3°C).
  • Drain any remaining water before storage.
  • Store the timer indoors to prevent potential freeze damage.
  • Keep the timer dry while it is being stored.

The ITV152 should only be operated within 37.4°F–122°F (3°C–50°C).

Long-Term Storage

If the timer will not be used for an extended period:

  • Remove the batteries before storage.
  • Drain any remaining water from the timer.
  • Store the timer indoors in a dry location.
  • Before using the timer again, install 2 new AAA alkaline batteries and securely close the battery compartment cover.

After a period of inactivity, activate the timer valve before normal operation. Use the Manual Watering button to open and close the valve several times if necessary until the valve responds normally.

General Care Tips

To help maintain proper operation:

  • Install and tighten all connections by hand only; do not use tools.
  • Avoid overtightening the plastic inlet and outlet connections.
  • Use clean, cold water only.
  • Keep the inlet filter clean and positioned horizontally.
  • Replace the batteries when the red low-battery indicator appears.
  • Make sure the battery compartment is dry when replacing batteries.
  • Install the timer in a sheltered outdoor location when possible to help extend its service life.
  • Do not immerse the timer in water or expose it to extreme force or impact.
