You can identify your HCS021FRF Soil & Moisture Sensor by checking the model name on the product label and the wide soil probe with the MAX insertion mark and single Operation Button on the upper body. No disassembly or tools are required.
Does the Version Affect Usage?
The current manual does not identify multiple HCS021FRF versions with different functions.
If your product is labeled HCS021FRF and matches the sensor design shown above, follow the instructions in this support section.
Different installation conditions or soil types do not represent different hardware versions.
Installation Note
The HCS021FRF should be installed vertically.
For accurate measurement:
- The probe section below the MAX mark should be buried in soil.
- The upper body and light sensor should remain above the soil.
- Do not force the sensor directly into hard ground.
- Avoid stones around the sensing area.
The HCS021FRF must also remain connected to a compatible Smart+ Gateway for app-based remote monitoring.
