The TCS024B measures soil moisture and ambient temperature and displays the measurement results in the RainPoint-Tuya app. It can be used directly with a nearby smartphone, or paired with the optional TWG009BW Gateway for remote access and additional smart irrigation functions.
What is the TCS024B?
The RAINPOINT TCS024B is a smart soil moisture meter designed to help monitor plant growing conditions.
The sensor measures:
- Soil moisture
- Ambient temperature
Measurement results can be viewed in the RainPoint-Tuya app.
The button on the device provides two main functions:
- Press: Take a real-time measurement and display the result in the app.
- Press and hold: Enter connection mode.
The app also allows users to select plants, customize suitable moisture and temperature ranges, and organize sensors by home or room.

Before You Start
1. Install the batteries
The TCS024B uses: 3 × AAA batteries
Batteries are not included.
Remove the rear battery cover with a screwdriver, insert the batteries correctly, then reinstall and tighten the cover.
2. Download the RainPoint-Tuya app
Search for: RainPoint-Tuya
in Google Play or the App Store.
Create a RainPoint account using an email address or mobile phone number.
3. Enable the required wireless function on your phone
Before adding the TCS024B, make sure the corresponding short-range wireless function on your phone is enabled.
In the app:
Add Device → Smart Irrigation → Soil Moisture Meter
4. Put the sensor into pairing mode
After new batteries are installed, the green LED flashes quickly: 2 times per second
This indicates that the sensor has automatically entered pairing mode.
If pairing mode needs to be activated again, press and hold the button for approximately 5 seconds.
5. Complete the connection
Follow the prompts in the RainPoint-Tuya app.
When the sensor is found:
- Select the device.
- Tap the + icon.
- Wait for the check mark.
- Tap Done.
6. Install the sensor correctly in the soil
The sensor body includes a BEST insertion mark.
Soft soil
Insert the sensor directly until the soil reaches the BEST position.
Hard soil
Make a suitable hole first, then place the sensor into the soil to the BEST position.
Avoid forcing the probe into hard or stony soil.
7. Take a real-time measurement
Short press the button on the sensor.
The current measurement result will be displayed in the app.
