What is the ICS018?
The RAINPOINT ICS018 is a screen-flip digital water flow meter designed to monitor water flow and water consumption in residential watering applications.
The meter provides four measurement modes:
- FLOW RATE MODE – Displays the real-time water flow rate.
- LAST MODE – Displays the most recently recorded water usage.
- TOTAL 1 MODE – Records accumulated water consumption.
- TOTAL 2 MODE – Provides a second independent accumulated water-consumption record.
TOTAL 1 and TOTAL 2 work independently, allowing different watering periods or usage totals to be tracked separately.
The ICS018 also supports:
- GAL / L unit switching
- A→B / A←B flow-direction switching
- Screen orientation flip
- Low-battery warning
- Automatic screen power saving

Before You Start
1. Remove the battery pull tab
Before first use, remove the battery pull tab from the battery compartment.
The installed CR2032 battery will then begin powering the meter.
2. Check the battery
The ICS018 uses: 1 × CR2032 button cell battery
The battery is included.
When replacing it:
- Install the positive (+) side facing upward.
- Make sure the battery cover is firmly secured.
3. Keep the product in its original assembled configuration
The manual recommends using the meter in its Out-of-Box Pre-Assembled order to help reduce leakage.
Avoid unnecessary disassembly of the water-flow path.
4. Select the correct physical installation direction
The ICS018 can be installed in different orientations depending on the direction of water flow.
Follow the installation illustrations so that the physical water-flow direction is correct.
5. Set the electronic flow direction
On the FLOW RATE page, press and hold the Direction Button to switch between:
- A→B
- A←B
Make sure the selected direction matches the actual flow through the meter.
6. Tighten all connections
Make sure all connections are secure before use.
Check the installation for leakage before relying on the measurement data.
7. Start with FLOW RATE MODE
Press the MENU button until FLOW RATE appears.
Turn on the water and confirm that a real-time flow value is displayed.
8. Select your preferred units
On the FLOW RATE page, press and hold MENU to switch between:
- GAL/Min
- L/Min
The water-consumption units change between GAL and L at the same time.
