What is the ICS049?
The RAINPOINT ICS049 is a screen-flip digital water flow meter designed for monitoring water flow and water consumption in garden watering applications.
The device provides four measurement modes:
- FLOW RATE MODE – Displays the current real-time water flow rate.
- LAST MODE – Displays the most recently recorded water usage.
- TOTAL 1 MODE – Records accumulated water consumption.
- TOTAL 2 MODE – Provides a second independent accumulated water consumption record.
TOTAL 1 and TOTAL 2 can be used independently and cleared separately.
The ICS049 also supports:
- Screen orientation flip
- A→B / A←B flow-direction switching
- GAL / L unit switching
- Low-battery warning
- Automatic screen power saving

Before You Start
1. Remove the battery isolation tab
The ICS049 is supplied with a CR2032 battery and a battery isolation tab.
Before first use:
- Open the battery compartment if necessary.
- Remove the battery isolation tab.
- Make sure the battery is correctly installed.
- Close and secure the battery cover.
2. Confirm the battery position
The ICS049 uses: 1 × CR2032 button cell battery
When replacing the battery, install it with the positive (+) side facing upward.
3. Install the flow meter in the required direction
The ICS049 supports two installation orientations.
Select the appropriate installation method according to the physical direction of water flow.
Then confirm the electronic flow direction on the FLOW RATE page:
- A→B
- A←B
Correct physical installation and direction selection are important for accurate measurement.
4. Hand-tighten all connections
Make sure all threaded connections are secure before turning on the water.
Do not overtighten with tools.
5. Use clean cold water only
The ICS049 is designed for measuring: Clean cold water only.
Do not use it with hot water or other liquids.
6. Start with FLOW RATE MODE
Press the MENU button until FLOW RATE appears.
Turn on the water and confirm that the meter displays a real-time flow reading.
7. Set the desired units
On the FLOW RATE page, press and hold the MENU button to switch between:
- GAL/Min
- L/Min
The water-consumption unit changes between gallons and liters at the same time.
