The HCS048B measures water flow and water consumption directly on its LCD display and can connect to the RainPoint Home app for time synchronization, water usage reports, cost settings, calibration, and other smart features.
What is the HCS048B?
The RAINPOINT HCS048B is a wireless water flow meter designed to monitor real-time flow and accumulated water usage in a garden watering system.
The flow meter provides five measurement modes directly on the device:
- TODAY – Daily water usage
- TOTAL 1 – Independent accumulated water usage record
- TOTAL 2 – Second independent accumulated water usage record
- LAST – Most recently recorded water usage
- FLOW RATE – Real-time water flow
The device can also connect to the RainPoint Home app to access additional functions such as:
- Water usage charts
- Water cost settings
- Tank Capacity Alert
- Water Usage Reset

Before You Start
1. Install new batteries
Use: 3 × AAA 1.5V alkaline batteries
Do not:
- Mix old and new batteries
- Mix different battery types
- Attempt to recharge alkaline batteries
Make sure the battery compartment cover is firmly closed after installation.
2. Confirm the water-flow direction
Install the HCS048B so that water enters through the inlet.
Incorrect flow direction may result in inaccurate measurements.
3. Tighten connections by hand
Make sure all connectors are securely tightened.
Hand-tighten only. Do not use tools.
Over-tightening may damage the connector or sealing surface.
4. Use clean cold water only
The HCS048B is designed for clean cold water.
5. Download RainPoint Home
Search for RainPoint Home in the App Store or Google Play.
Create an account or sign in with an existing account.
6. Connect the HCS048B
After the batteries are installed, the device remains available for wireless connection for approximately 2 minutes.
If the initial connection window is missed:
- Switch to the FLOW RATE screen.
- Press and hold the Direction Button.
- Wait for the wireless icon to flash.
- Select HCS048B in the RainPoint Home app.
7. Connect the app for time synchronization
App connection is particularly important for the TODAY function because the device uses synchronized time when calculating daily usage.
