What is the ITP138?
The RAINPOINT ITP138 is an indoor/outdoor solar watering kit designed to draw water from a reservoir and automatically deliver it to plants through a drip irrigation system.
The device combines an integrated solar panel, rechargeable battery, water pump, and watering timer in one unit.
Watering is controlled through two rotary knobs:
- HOW OFTEN: Sets how frequently the pump waters.
- HOW LONG: Sets how long each watering cycle runs.
A Manual Button is also provided for starting or stopping a temporary watering cycle.
The standard kit includes drip irrigation accessories for 10 pots, and an expansion kit may be purchased separately if additional coverage is required.

Before You Start
1. Make sure the battery has sufficient power
The ITP138 includes a rechargeable battery and supports both solar and USB-C charging.
Battery indicator:
- Solid green: Battery full
- Flashing green: Charging
- Flashing red: Low battery
If the battery is too low, the pump will automatically shut off and the watering plan will not run.
2. Install the ground stake
Join the two sections of the ground stake and attach the stake to the slot on the bottom of the device.
Use the adjustable bolt to set and secure the solar panel angle.
3. Position the pump correctly
Keep the system at or above the level of the water container.
Do not position the pump below the water container.
4. Keep the vertical watering height within the recommended range
Plants should not be positioned more than: 9.8 ft (3 m) above the pump.
5. Connect the inlet tubing
Connect the main tubing to the IN port.
Attach the filter to the other end and place the filter inside the water container.
6. Connect the outlet tubing
Connect tubing to the OUT port and install the anti-siphon valve close to the pump.
Make sure the anti-siphon valve follows the marked water-flow direction.
7. Build the drip irrigation layout
Use the supplied:
- Main line tubing
- Branch line tubing
- T-barb fittings
- Cross barb fitting
- Micro drip emitters
to create the required watering layout.
8. Release trapped air
Before installing the tubing end plugs, allow water to flow from the end of the tubing.
This helps release trapped air from the irrigation line.
9. Set the watering plan
Turn:
HOW OFTEN → desired watering interval
and
HOW LONG → desired watering duration
After the settings are confirmed, the Pump Status Indicator flashes green five times and then remains solid green briefly.
The pump then starts the first watering cycle immediately.
