RAINPOINT ITP138 – Common Issues & Fixes

If the ITP138 does not operate as expected during installation or everyday use, the information below outlines common operating conditions and practical solutions.

These situations are usually related to battery status, water supply, tubing installation, pump placement, or watering settings.

Condition 1: Pump does not work or no water is pumped from the container

Possible Causes

  • Battery power is too low.
  • A water shortage is detected.
  • Impurities may have entered the pump.
  • The pump may have been damaged by a fall or during transportation.

What to Do

  • Check the Battery Indicator.
  • Recharge the device if the indicator flashes red.
  • Check the water level in the container.
  • Make sure the inlet filter is submerged.
  • Check the inlet tubing connection.
  • If the pump still cannot operate or pump water, contact RAINPOINT Support.

Condition 2: Water leaks from the IN or OUT port

Possible Cause

The tubing is not fully or firmly inserted.

What to Do

  • Remove the tubing.
  • Check the tubing end.
  • Reinsert the tubing fully into the IN or OUT port.
  • Run a short watering test and check the connection again.

Condition 3: Water flow is weak

Possible Causes

  • The pump is too far from the plants.
  • The water container is too far from the pump.
  • The tubing is longer than necessary.
  • Air remains inside the tubing.

What to Do

  • Move the pump closer to the plants and water source.
  • Shorten unnecessary tubing.
  • Allow water to flow from the tubing end before installing the end plug.
  • Keep the vertical height from the pump to the plants within 9.8 ft (3 m).

Condition 4: The watering plan does not run

Possible Causes

  • Battery power is too low.
  • Watering frequency or duration has not been set correctly.

What to Do

  • Check the Battery Indicator.
  • Select the desired HOW OFTEN setting.
  • Select a HOW LONG duration other than OFF.
  • Wait for the Pump Status Indicator to confirm the settings.

When the plan is successfully confirmed, the indicator flashes green five times and then stays solid green for 2 seconds.

Condition 5: The Water Shortage Indicator is red

A solid red Water Shortage Indicator means a water shortage has been detected.

What to Do

  • Refill the water container.
  • Make sure the inlet filter remains submerged.
  • Check that the inlet tubing is connected correctly.

Condition 6: Solar charging is slow or the battery remains low

What to Do

  • Check that the solar panel has sufficient exposure to light.
  • Adjust the solar panel angle using the adjustable bolt.
  • Check the Battery Indicator.
  • Use USB-C charging when additional charging is needed.

Condition 7: Manual watering does not start

Manual watering uses the previously selected HOW LONG duration.

Before starting:

  • Make sure a watering duration has been selected.
  • Make sure the battery is not depleted.
  • Make sure sufficient water is available.

Press the Manual Button to start watering.

Press it again to stop watering early.
