RAINPOINT IK15P – Common Issues & Fixes

If the IK15P does not operate as expected during installation or everyday use, the information below outlines common operating conditions and practical solutions.

These conditions are usually related to battery status, water supply, solar charging conditions, installation, or watering settings.

Condition 1: The pump does not start

Possible Causes

  • The battery level is too low.
  • The setting dial is not in the correct operating position.
  • A water shortage has been detected.

What to Do

  • Check the battery symbol on the LCD.
  • Recharge the pump using solar or USB charging.
  • Check the water level in the reservoir.
  • Check the water level detector.
  • Make sure the programmed schedule is complete.
  • Turn the dial to ON for automatic watering.

The manual states that when the low-battery symbol flashes, the pump will not start.

Condition 2: The red water shortage indicator stays on

A solid red water shortage indicator means that a water shortage has been detected.

What to Do

  • Check the reservoir water level.
  • Make sure the filter remains submerged.
  • Check the water level detector position.
  • Make sure the detector is connected to the correct port.
  • Confirm that the detector and filter are hanging vertically.

Condition 3: The solar panel does not appear to charge the pump

Check the following:

  • Make sure the solar charger cable is connected.
  • Place the solar panel in direct sunlight.
  • Remove unnecessary shading.
  • Clean dirt, leaves, or bird droppings from the solar panel.

The manual notes that solar charging performance depends on sunlight intensity and that slow or limited charging during rainy weather may be normal.

When solar charging is active, the green charging indicator remains on.

Condition 4: The watering schedule does not start

Check the following settings:

  1. SET CLOCK
  2. START TIME
  3. HOW LONG
  4. HOW OFTEN
  5. Dial position

After completing the settings, turn the dial to: ON

Also check whether Rain Delay is currently active.

Condition 5: Manual watering does not start

To start manual watering:

  1. Turn the dial to ON.
  2. Press and hold the OK button for 3 seconds.
  3. Set the manual watering duration with + or –.
  4. Press OK to start.

If no action is taken for about 3 seconds while setting the duration, the device exits Manual Watering Mode.

Condition 6: Rain Delay does not start

After selecting the delay period, press OK to confirm.

Available delay periods are:

  • 24 hours
  • 48 hours
  • 72 hours

If the setting is not completed in time, the device exits Delay Mode.

Condition 7: Water continues to move or backflow occurs

Check:

  • Pump position
  • Anti-siphon valve installation
  • Valve flow direction

It is best to position the pump above the reservoir water level and install the anti-siphon valve according to its marked flow direction.

Condition 8: Condensation appears inside the screen

Temperature differences between the inside and outside of the device may cause temporary condensation.

According to the IK15P troubleshooting section, the fog should disappear as the temperature rises or after the device is allowed to stand for a period of time.
