RAINPOINT IK159 – Overview & Getting Started

This page serves as the support and reference center for the RAINPOINT IK159 Automatic Indoor Drip Irrigation Pump Kit.

If the model number on your product is IK159, you are in the correct place.

What is the IK159?

The RAINPOINT IK159 is an automatic indoor drip irrigation pump designed to draw clean cold water from a water container and deliver it directly to plants through a drip irrigation system.

Watering is controlled directly on the pump using two rotary knobs:

  • HOW OFTEN: Sets the watering interval.
  • HOW LONG: Sets the watering duration and includes an OFF position.

The pump also includes a MANUAL button for starting or stopping watering without changing the preset schedule.

The built-in rechargeable battery is charged through the USB-C port using a 5V / 1A power source.

Key Capabilities Include

  • Automatic scheduled watering
  • ONE TIME watering mode
  • Manual watering button
  • Adjustable watering frequency
  • Adjustable watering duration from 15 seconds to 20 minutes
  • Water shortage detection
  • USB-C charging
  • 2000 mAh rechargeable battery

  • Anti-siphon protection
  • 1/6" (4 mm) main tubing
  • 1/8" (3 mm) branch tubing

Before You Start

For reliable operation, check the following before setting up the IK159.

1. Charge the pump before use

Connect the included USB-C cable to the pump and use a 5V / 1A USB power adapter.

The power indicator provides charging and battery status information:

  • Breathing green: Charging
  • Yellow: Low battery
  • Red flashes twice: Battery depleted; the pump cannot operate

2. Use clean cold water only

Keep the inlet filter installed to help prevent impurities from entering the pump and tubing.

3. Position the pump correctly

Place the pump at or above the reservoir water level.

Do not place the pump below the water level. Correct placement helps prevent siphoning, backflow, leakage, or unintended watering.

4. Keep the height difference within 6.6 ft (2 m)

The recommended maximum installation height difference is: ≤ 6.6 ft (2 m)

5. Check the IN and OUT connections

Connect the 1/6" (4 mm) tubing firmly to the water inlet and outlet ports.

Loose or incomplete tubing connections may cause leakage.

6. Install the anti-siphon valve correctly

Install the anti-siphon valve on the outlet tubing near the pump.

Make sure the valve follows the marked water-flow direction.

7. Keep the inlet filter submerged

Attach the filter to the inlet tubing and place it inside the water container.

8. Release air before installing the end plug

Allow water to flow from the end of the tubing before installing the end plug. This helps release trapped air from the irrigation line.

9. Test the system before regular use

For a one-time test:

  • Set HOW OFTEN to ONE TIME
  • Set HOW LONG to a watering duration other than OFF

Alternatively, use the MANUAL button to test watering.

Check all tubing connections and fittings for leaks before regular operation.
