The HTP159W connects to the RainPoint Home app through Wi-Fi for smart watering control. No Gateway is required according to the current HTP159W user manual.
What is the HTP159W?
The RAINPOINT HTP159W is a Wi-Fi-enabled automatic indoor drip irrigation pump designed to draw clean cold water from a water container and deliver it directly to plants through a drip irrigation system.
After the pump is connected to the RainPoint Home app, watering schedules, manual watering, Rain Delay, Seasonal Adjustment, device status, and irrigation records can be managed from the app.
The HTP159W also includes a physical Manual Watering Button, allowing watering to be started or stopped directly from the pump.

Before You Start
1. Download the RainPoint Home app
Search for RainPoint Home in the App Store or Google Play, or scan the QR code in the user manual.

2. Turn on the pump
Slide the Power Switch to ON before setup or operation.
3. Prepare the Wi-Fi connection
During Wi-Fi setup:
- If separate Wi-Fi networks are displayed, select 2.4 GHz.
- If a combined network is used, continue with the setup process shown in the app.
4. Put the pump into pairing mode if needed
From standby, press and hold the Wi-Fi Setup Button for 3 seconds.
5. Keep the pump within the recommended Wi-Fi range
The specified Wi-Fi connection range is:
Up to 262 ft (80 m) in open, unobstructed areas with minimal interference.
Actual indoor connection distance may be affected by walls and other sources of interference.
6. Charge the pump before use
Connect the included USB-C cable to the charging port and use a DC 5V / 1A adapter.
Charging indicator:
- Amber solid: Charging
- Green solid: Charging complete
7. Position the pump correctly
Do not place the pump below the water level in the container.
Keep the pump at or above the reservoir water level to help prevent siphoning, leakage, or overwatering.
8. Keep the height difference within 6.6 ft (2 m)
The applicable installation height difference is: ≤ 6.6 ft (2 m)
9. Use clean cold water only
Keep the inlet filter installed and submerged in the water container.
10. Test the system before regular use
Short press the Manual Watering Button to start the pump.
Check the tubing connections and fittings for leaks before creating regular watering schedules.
