The HTV405 with a plastic inlet and four plastic outlets is designed to provide a secure, leak-resistant connection when installed correctly. If water is leaking from the inlet, the cause is usually related to thread sealing, installation method, water pressure, or damage to the inlet threads or internal seals.
How to Properly Install and Maintain the HTV405
Applicable for Plastic Inlet & Plastic Outlets
• Seal the inlet connection
Apply Teflon® (PTFE) tape to the male threads of the water source before attaching the plastic inlet. Wrap the tape clockwise several turns to ensure a proper seal. Hand-tighten the inlet securely. Do not overtighten, as excessive force can crack or deform plastic threads.
• Install the outlets
Connect hoses or irrigation lines to the four plastic outlets. Ensure proper thread alignment and tighten by hand only.
• Install new batteries
Use new AA alkaline, non-rechargeable batteries only
Use one battery brand and replace all batteries at the same time
Do not mix old and new batteries or different brands
• Test the valve
Turn on the water slowly and run a manual watering cycle. Inspect the inlet connection carefully for leaks.
