How to Properly Install and Maintain the TTV103

Plastic Inlet & Plastic Outlet

• Seal the outlet connection
Apply Teflon® (PTFE) tape to the male threads of the hose or irrigation line before attaching it to the plastic outlet. Wrap the tape clockwise several turns to help prevent leaks. Hand-tighten only. Do not use tools, as overtightening may damage the plastic outlet.

• Install the valve
Connect the plastic inlet to the water source, ensuring proper thread alignment. Hand-tighten only and snug gently. Do not overtighten.

• Install new batteries
Use new AA alkaline, non-rechargeable batteries only.
Use one battery brand and replace all batteries at the same time.
Do not mix old and new batteries or different brands.

• Test the valve
Turn on the water slowly and run a manual watering cycle to confirm proper operation and check for leaks.

Why the TTV103 May Leak or Stop Working

• No or insufficient Teflon tape on outlet threads
• Cross-threading during installation
• Overtightening causing cracks or deformation of the plastic inlet or outlet
• Worn or damaged internal seals
• Use of rechargeable, mixed, or low-power batteries
• Excessive water pressure
• Freezing damage

Tips for Reliable Operation

• Always use Teflon (PTFE) tape on outlet threads
• Hand-tighten plastic fittings only
• Use new AA alkaline, non-rechargeable batteries
• Keep water pressure within the recommended range
• Drain and protect the valve in freezing conditions
