Why is my TTV103 leaking from the inlet, and how can I fix it?

How to Properly Install and Maintain the TTV103

Brass Inlet & Plastic Outlet

• Seal the inlet connection

Apply Teflon® (PTFE) tape to the male threads of the water supply before attaching the brass inlet. Wrap the tape clockwise several turns to ensure a proper seal. Tighten securely, but do not overtighten.

• Install the valve

Connect the plastic outlet to the hose or irrigation line. Make sure the threads are aligned correctly. Hand-tighten only. Do not use tools, as overtightening may damage the plastic outlet.

• Install new batteries

Use new AA alkaline, non-rechargeable batteries only.
Use one battery brand and replace all batteries at the same time.
Do not mix old and new batteries or different brands.

• Test the valve

Turn on the water slowly and run a manual watering cycle to confirm proper operation and check for leaks.

Why the TTV103 May Leak or Stop Working

• No or insufficient Teflon tape on inlet threads
• Cross-threading during installation
• Overtightening that damages the plastic outlet or internal seals
• Worn or damaged internal seals
• Use of rechargeable, mixed, or low-power batteries
• Excessive water pressure
• Freezing damage

Tips for Reliable Operation

• Always use Teflon (PTFE) tape on inlet threads
• Tighten the brass inlet firmly but avoid excessive force
• Hand-tighten the plastic outlet only
• Use new AA alkaline, non-rechargeable batteries
• Keep water pressure within the recommended range
• Drain and protect the valve in freezing conditions
