This article explains how to connect and operate the RAINPOINT MZ255-2 Heavy Duty Hose Nozzle.
Installation Instructions
Step 1: Check the Hose Connection
Before installation:
- Make sure the garden hose connector is clean.
- Check that the built-in rubber washer is correctly positioned.
- Confirm that the garden hose uses a compatible 3/4" connection.
Step 2: Connect the Nozzle
Screw the garden hose directly onto the MZ255-2 threaded water inlet.
Tighten the connection securely by hand.
The manual shows a simple screw-on connection between the garden hose and nozzle.
Step 3: Turn On the Water
After the nozzle is securely connected, turn on the water supply.
For normal use: Standard Working Pressure: 60 PSI (4.1 bar)
Do not exceed: 80 PSI (5.5 bar)
Step 4: Start Spraying
Hold the nozzle handle and press the trigger.
The default spray pattern described in the manual is a fine mist.
Step 5: Adjust the Spray Pattern
Rotate the brass nozzle to change the spray pattern.
The MZ255-2 provides continuous adjustment rather than fixed spray positions.
Fine Mist
Start from the initial fine-mist position.
Jet
Rotate the brass nozzle to change from the fine mist toward a more concentrated jet.
Shower
Continue adjusting the nozzle to reach the shower-style spray described in the manual.
Adjust gradually until the desired spray effect is reached.
Step 6: Use the Trigger-Lock Buckle
For continuous watering:
- Press the trigger.
- Secure the trigger using the buckle.
- Continue watering without holding the trigger continuously.
Release the buckle when continuous spraying is no longer needed.
Before Regular Use
Check that:
- The garden hose is securely connected.
- The built-in rubber washer is correctly positioned.
- The brass nozzle rotates normally.
- The trigger and buckle operate normally.
- Water pressure does not exceed 80 PSI.
- Water temperature does not exceed 115°F (46°C).
