Q1. What does the HCS026FRF measure?

A. The HCS026FRF measures soil moisture.

Q2. Does the HCS026FRF measure temperature?

A. The current HCS026FRF manual only specifies soil-moisture measurement. It does not list temperature measurement as a supported HCS026FRF function.

Q3. Does the HCS026FRF require a Gateway?

A. Yes. The current manual specifies either HWG023WBRF or HWG040WLBRF. The Gateway is sold separately.

Q4. Which app does the HCS026FRF use?

A. RainPoint Home.

Q5. Can I use the HCS026FRF without the Gateway?

A. The sensor can display a moisture reading on its LCD and supports manual measurement. However, the current manual requires a compatible Gateway for RainPoint Home connection and smart app features.

Q6. How often does the HCS026FRF measure automatically?

A. Approximately every 3 minutes.

Q7. Can I take a measurement immediately?

A. Yes. Short press the button to perform a manual soil-moisture measurement.

Q8. What is the soil-moisture range?

A. The specification states 1% RH–99% RH.

Q9. How many soil types are available?

A. The sensor provides 6 soil-type modes: P1 Default, P2 Peat Soil, P3 Black Soil, P4 Sandy Loam Soil, P5 Red Soil, and P6 Others.

Q10. What happens if I do not select a soil type?

A. The system defaults to P1.

Q11. How deep should I install the sensor?

A. Install the sensor until the soil reaches the BEST reference position.

Q12. Can I force the sensor into hard soil?

A. No. Dig a hole first and then install the sensor.

Q13. Can I view historical moisture data?

A. Yes. RainPoint Home provides trend charts for the past 24 hours, past 30 days, and past 1 year.

Q14. Can I export the moisture data?

A. Yes. On the Chart page, tap the Download icon to export the data.

Q15. Can I check whether the sensor was offline?

A. Yes. Open Event to view online/offline status.

Q16. What batteries does the HCS026FRF use?

A. 3 × AAA alkaline batteries. Batteries are not included.

Q17. Is the sensor waterproof?

A. The specified protection rating is IP54.
