If the timer isn’t working as expected during setup or everyday use, refer to the common situations and solutions below.
Situation 1: The screen is blank or not responding
Possible causes
- Batteries are drained or inserted incorrectly
- Strong direct sunlight or extreme temperatures affect the LCD
What to do
- Install 4 new AA alkaline batteries.
- Check polarity and make sure the battery compartment is fully closed/sealed.
- Move the unit to a shaded area, let it cool down, and check again.
Situation 2: The screen fogs up or shows condensation
Possible causes
- Sudden temperature/humidity changes
- Water exposure or an unsealed battery cover
What to do
- Ensure the battery cover is sealed properly.
- Remove the batteries and let the timer air-dry for 24–48 hours (no heat).
Situation 3: Leaks at the timer body or connections
Possible causes
- The inlet washer/filter is missing or not seated correctly.
- Threads are loose, misaligned, or cross-threaded.
What to do
- Reinstall the inlet washer/filter so it sits flat.
- Re-align the threads and tighten by hand only.
- Apply Teflon (thread seal) tape to faucet threads if needed.
Situation 4: Low pressure or weak water flow
Possible causes
- The inlet screen/filter is clogged.
- Water pressure is insufficient for the current setup.
What to do
- Clean the inlet screen/filter.
- Reduce the load (shorter hose/fewer emitters) and test again.
Situation 5: No water output or watering is inconsistent
Possible causes
- The faucet is not fully open, or IN/OUT is reversed.
- The program is incomplete or was not saved.
What to do
- Turn the faucet on fully and confirm INLET → OUTLET.
- Make sure each zone includes Start Time + Frequency + Duration, then save.
Situation 6: Water won’t shut off / keeps running
Possible causes
- Valve may need activation after storage.
- Debris is blocking the valve or inlet screen.
What to do
- Run Manual Watering for 5–7 seconds, stop, and repeat 3–5 times.
- Clean the inlet screen/filter and reinstall.
Situation 7: A zone does not run
Possible causes
- Zone settings are missing or incorrect.
- Rain Delay is enabled.
What to do
- Review and save Zone 1/2/3 settings.
- Cancel Rain Delay if necessary.
Situation 8: Zone schedules overlap
Possible causes
- Two or more zones are set to run at the same time.
What to do
- The timer runs the earliest-start zone first; the others begin after it finishes.
- Adjust start times to prevent overlap.
Situation 9: Settings are not saved, or the schedule does not run
Possible causes
- Clock/current time is incorrect.
- Low battery power.
What to do
- Set in order: Clock → Start Time → Frequency → Duration, then confirm on screen.
- Replace batteries and reprogram if settings are lost.
