If your timer doesn’t work as expected during installation or daily use, the following guide will help you identify and resolve the most common issues.
Situation 1: The screen does not turn on
Possible causes
Batteries are depleted
Batteries are installed incorrectly
The display has been exposed to strong, direct sunlight for long periods
What to do
Replace with 2 new AA alkaline batteries
Ensure the battery tray is fully inserted and sealed
Avoid prolonged exposure to strong, direct sunlight
Situation 2: The screen appears frozen or unresponsive
Possible causes
The timer has been inactive for a long time
The internal valve has not been activated yet
What to do
Perform the activation process using Manual Watering
Repeat the activation steps 3–5 times if needed (normal after storage or inactivity)
Situation 3: Water continues flowing or does not shut off
Possible causes
Manual watering or rain delay was set, but not confirmed
The valve has not been fully activated
What to do
After setting Manual Watering or Rain Delay, press OK to confirm
If the issue continues, repeat the activation procedure
Situation 4: Water leakage at the inlet connection
Possible causes
The inlet filter is missing or not positioned correctly
The faucet is not a standard 3/4" garden faucet
The threaded connection is loose
What to do
Make sure the filter is installed flat and seated properly
Apply Teflon (thread seal) tape to the faucet threads if needed
Tighten connections by hand only (do not use tools)
Situation 5: Low water pressure or weak flow
Possible causes
The inlet filter is clogged
Water source pressure is below the required minimum
Too many watering lines are connected
What to do
Clean or replace the inlet filter
Confirm your water pressure meets the minimum requirement (see product specifications)
Reduce the watering load (e.g., fewer irrigation lines) (usually related to the water source, not device malfunction)
Situation 6: Installation tips for different versions
Possible causes
Some ITV101P versions use plastic outlet components, which can be damaged by overtightening or cross-threading
What to do
Tighten connections by hand only
Align threads carefully to avoid cross-threading
Do not apply excessive force (when installed correctly, this does not affect normal operation)
