RAINPOINT DZ-PRO – Installation, Use & Common Issues

This article explains how to install and operate the RAINPOINT DZ-PRO 2-Way Hose Splitter and covers the main leakage and cold-weather guidance provided in the user manual.

Installation & Use

Step 1: Connect the Splitter to the Faucet

Align the DZ-PRO inlet with the faucet threads.

Gently screw the splitter onto the faucet until the connection is secure and the threads fit correctly.

· Important

Install by hand only. Do not use tools.

Using tools may overtighten the connection or damage the threads.

Step 2: Connect the Garden Hoses

Connect a compatible garden hose to each outlet.

For each hose:

  1. Align the hose connector with the outlet thread.
  2. Screw the hose on gently.
  3. Hand-tighten until secure.

Both outlets are designed for: Standard 3/4" garden hoses

Step 3: Control the Water Flow

Turn on the faucet.

Use the two Valve Switches to control the outlets independently.

Each Valve Switch controls the water flow on its corresponding side.

Depending on the watering setup, you can:

  • Open the left outlet only
  • Open the right outlet only
  • Open both outlets
  • Close either outlet while leaving the other in use

Condition 1: Water leaks between the faucet and splitter

Possible Cause

The DZ-PRO inlet may not be correctly aligned with the faucet threads.

What to Do

  1. Turn off the water.
  2. Disconnect the splitter.
  3. Check the faucet and splitter threads.
  4. Align the threads correctly.
  5. Reconnect the DZ-PRO.
  6. Hand-tighten securely.
  7. Turn the water back on and check again.

Condition 2: Leakage continues after reconnecting

If the faucet and splitter threads are correctly aligned but leakage remains:

  1. Turn off the water.
  2. Disconnect the splitter.
  3. Wrap PTFE / Teflon tape around the faucet threads.
  4. Install a rubber washer inside the splitter inlet.
  5. Reconnect the DZ-PRO.
  6. Hand-tighten and test again.

This is the leakage solution specifically shown in the manual.

Condition 3: Water leaks from one of the hose outlets

What to Do

  • Turn off the water.
  • Disconnect the affected hose.
  • Check the hose and splitter outlet threads.
  • Make sure the connection is correctly aligned.
  • Check the sealing washer.
  • Reconnect and hand-tighten securely.

Condition 4: Water does not come from one outlet

What to Check

Check the Valve Switch on the affected side.

Each outlet is independently controlled.

Move the corresponding Valve Switch to the open position.

Condition 5: Water flow from one side is lower than expected

Check whether the Valve Switch on that side is fully open.

Because each Valve Switch controls its own outlet, a partially closed valve can reduce water flow through that side.
