This article explains how to install and operate the RAINPOINT DZ03 3-Way Hose Splitter and covers the main leakage and cold-weather guidance provided in the user manual.
Installation & Use
Step 1: Connect the Splitter to the Faucet
Align the inlet of the DZ03 with the faucet threads.
Gently screw the splitter onto the faucet until the connection is secure and the threads fit correctly.
· Important
Install by hand only. Do not use tools.
Using tools may overtighten the connection and damage the splitter or faucet threads.
Step 2: Connect the Garden Hoses
Connect up to three compatible garden hoses to the three DZ03 outlets.
For each hose:
- Align the hose connector with the outlet thread.
- Screw the hose on gently.
- Hand-tighten until secure.
All three outlets are designed for: Standard 3/4" garden hoses
Step 3: Control the Water Flow
Turn on the faucet.
Use the three Valve Switches to open or close each outlet independently.
Each switch controls the water flow on its corresponding side.
Depending on the watering setup, you can:
- Open one outlet
- Open two outlets
- Open all three outlets
- Close individual outlets without disconnecting the hoses
Condition 1: Water leaks between the faucet and splitter
Possible Cause
The splitter inlet may not be properly aligned with the faucet threads.
What to Do
- Turn off the water.
- Disconnect the DZ03.
- Check the faucet and splitter threads.
- Align the threads correctly.
- Reconnect the splitter.
- Hand-tighten securely.
Condition 2: Leakage continues after reconnecting
If the threads are correctly aligned but leakage remains:
- Turn off the water.
- Disconnect the splitter.
- Wrap PTFE / Teflon tape around the faucet threads.
- Add a rubber washer inside the splitter inlet.
- Reconnect the splitter.
- Hand-tighten and test again.
This is the leakage solution specifically shown in the manual.
Condition 3: Water leaks at one of the hose outlets
What to Do
- Turn off the water.
- Disconnect the affected hose.
- Check the hose and outlet threads.
- Make sure the connection is properly aligned.
- Check the sealing washer.
- Reconnect and hand-tighten securely.
Condition 4: Water does not come from one outlet
What to Check
Check the position of the Valve Switch for that outlet.
Each valve operates independently.
Move the corresponding Valve Switch to the open position.
