RAINPOINT RT1001 – Installation, Use & Common Issues

This article explains how to install and use the RAINPOINT RT1001 90° Hose Swivel Elbow and how to address common connection leakage.

Installation

Step 1: Check the Faucet Connection

Before installation:

• Check that the faucet uses a compatible 3/4" NH thread.
• Check that the faucet threads are clean and undamaged.
• Make sure the sealing washer is correctly positioned.

Step 2: Connect the RT1001

Align the RT1001 inlet with the faucet thread.

Screw the adapter onto the faucet until secure.

Hand-tighten only.

The manual states that the included soft sealing gasket is designed to provide sealing without excessive tightening.

Do not overtighten the adapter using tools, as this may damage the connection.

Step 3: Connect the Garden Hose

Connect a compatible standard 3/4" garden hose to the RT1001 outlet.

Hand-tighten the connection securely.

Using the 360° Swivel

After installation, the swivel section can rotate through 360°.

Adjust the hose direction as needed to:

• Improve hose routing
• Reduce twisting
• Reduce kinking
• Keep the hose from bending sharply at the faucet
• Provide additional clearance near a wall or faucet

Avoid forcing the swivel beyond its normal movement.

Condition 1: Water leaks between the faucet and RT1001

Possible Causes

• The faucet and adapter threads are not correctly aligned.
• The connection is not sufficiently tightened.
• The sealing washer is missing or incorrectly positioned.

What to Do

1. Turn off the water supply.
2. Disconnect the RT1001.
3. Check the faucet and connector threads.
4. Make sure the threads are correctly aligned.
5. Check that the rubber sealing washer is installed.
6. Reconnect the adapter.
7. Hand-tighten securely.

Condition 2: Leakage continues after reconnecting

If the threads are correctly aligned and leakage remains:

1. Turn off the water.
2. Disconnect the RT1001.
3. Wrap PTFE / Teflon tape around the faucet thread.
4. Make sure a rubber washer is installed inside the RT1001 inlet.
5. Reconnect the adapter.
6. Hand-tighten and test again.

Condition 3: The hose twists or bends sharply at the faucet

Rotate the RT1001 swivel until the hose is positioned more naturally.

The 360° swivel is designed to help reduce:

• Hose twisting
• Kinking
• Connection stress
