RAINPOINT DG-DIS201 – Installation & Use

This article explains how to assemble and use the RAINPOINT DG-DIS201 Drip Irrigation Quick Connect System.

Before Installation

Before assembling the system:

  • Confirm that all required components are available.
  • Plan the location of the main line and individual plant branches.
  • Make sure the tubing is free from kinks.
  • Check that the filter is installed inside the 3/4" to 5/16" quick connector.

The filter helps prevent debris or sediment from clogging the emitters.

Step 1: Connect the Main Water Line

Connect the 5/16" main line to the water source using the supplied connector.

For larger layouts, the manual recommends using a hose splitter at the water source to help improve water-distribution efficiency.

Step 2: Plan and Cut the Tubing

Lay out the main line according to the planting area.

Cut the tubing where branches are required.

Step 3: Install the Main-Line Connectors

Use the appropriate connector depending on the required layout.

Available configurations include:

  • Tee
  • One-way connector
  • Two-way connector
  • Four-way connector

Push the tubing fully into the connector.

Step 4: Connect the 1/4" Distribution Lines

Insert the 1/4" distribution tubing into the required connector outlets.

Important

Push the tubing in firmly until it is completely seated.

A connection that is not fully inserted may leak under water pressure.

Step 5: Close Unused Outlets

Install the appropriate end plug on any unused connector outlets.

Use:

  • 5/16" End Plug for the applicable main line
  • 1/4" End Plug for unused distribution outlets

Make sure each plug is fully inserted.

Step 6: Flush the Tubing

Before installing the emitters, allow clean water to run through the tubing.

The installation illustration recommends flushing the system for approximately: 2 minutes

This helps remove debris that may have entered the tubing during assembly.

Step 7: Install the Emitters

Attach the selected emitter to the end of each 1/4" distribution line.

Available emitter types include:

Stream Emitter

Provides a stream-style watering output.

Vortex Emitter

Provides a vortex-style watering output.

Position each emitter near the intended plant.

Step 8: Adjust the Emitters

Rotate the emitter head as needed to adjust the watering output.

Check each watering point after the water supply is turned on.

How to Disconnect Tubing or End Plugs

The DG-DIS201 uses quick-connect fittings.

To disconnect:

  1. Turn off the water supply.
  2. Press firmly on the inner release ring of the connector.
  3. Keep the ring pressed.
  4. Pull the tubing or end plug outward.

Do not pull the tubing out without pressing the release ring first.

Water Pressure

Operate the system within: 30–60 PSI

Excessive pressure can increase the risk of tubing or fittings coming loose.

Using All 16 Emitters

If all 16 emitters are used, the manual recommends:

  • No more than 8 emitters per four-way connector
  • Approximately 2 emitters per branch

This helps maintain more consistent water pressure across the irrigation system.
