The HTV107 with plastic inlet and plastic outlet is designed to provide a secure, leak-resistant connection when installed correctly. If water is leaking from the inlet, the issue is usually related to thread sealing, installation method, water pressure, or damage to the inlet threads or internal seals.
How to Properly Install and Maintain the HTV107
Applicable for Plastic Inlet & Plastic Outlet
• Seal the inlet connection
Apply Teflon® (PTFE) tape to the male threads of the water source before attaching the plastic inlet. Wrap the tape clockwise several turns to ensure a proper seal. Hand-tighten securely, then gently tighten further if needed. Avoid overtightening, as plastic threads can crack or deform.
• Install the outlet
Connect your hose or irrigation line to the plastic outlet. Ensure proper alignment and hand-tighten only. Do not use tools, as they may damage the plastic fitting.
• Install new batteries
Use new AA alkaline, non-rechargeable batteries only
Use one battery brand and replace all batteries at the same time
Do not mix old and new batteries or different brands
• Test the valve
Turn on the water slowly and run a manual watering cycle. Check the inlet connection carefully for leaks.
Why the HTV107 May Leak from the Inlet or Stop Working
No or insufficient Teflon tape on inlet threads
Cross-threading during installation
Overtightening that damages the inlet or internal seals
Worn or damaged internal seals
Use of rechargeable, mixed, or low-power batteries
Excessive water pressure
Freezing damage
Tips for Reliable Operation
Always use Teflon (PTFE) tape on inlet threads
Hand-tighten fittings; never overtighten

Keep water pressure within the recommended range
Drain and store the valve indoors during freezing conditions
