This article explains how to install and operate the RAINPOINT DZ01 2-Way Hose Splitter and covers the main leakage and cold-weather guidance provided in the user manual.
Installation & Use
Step 1: Connect the Splitter to the Faucet
Align the inlet of the DZ01 with the faucet threads.
Gently screw the splitter onto the faucet and make sure the threads fit correctly and securely.
· Important
Install by hand only. Do not use tools.
The manual specifically advises against using tools during installation.
Step 2: Connect the Garden Hoses
Connect the two garden hoses to the two DZ01 outlets.
Align each hose with the outlet threads and screw it on gently until the connection is secure.
Both outlets are designed for: Standard 3/4" garden hoses
Step 3: Turn On the Water
Turn on the faucet.
Then use the two Valve Switches to control the two outlets.
Each switch controls the water flow on its own side.
For example:
- Left valve open / right valve closed
- Right valve open / left valve closed
- Both valves open
- Both valves closed
Condition 1: Water leaks between the faucet and splitter
Possible Cause
The splitter inlet may not be correctly aligned with the faucet threads.
What to Do
- Turn off the water.
- Disconnect the DZ01.
- Check the faucet and splitter threads.
- Align the threads correctly.
- Reconnect the splitter by hand.
- Tighten securely.
Condition 2: Leakage continues after reconnecting
If the threads are correctly aligned but the connection still leaks:
- Turn off the water.
- Disconnect the splitter.
- Wrap PTFE / Teflon tape around the faucet threads.
- Add a rubber washer inside the splitter inlet.
- Reconnect the splitter.
- Hand-tighten and test again.
This is the leakage solution specifically shown in the manual.
Condition 3: Water leaks at one of the hose outlets
What to Do
- Turn off the water.
- Disconnect the affected hose.
- Check the hose thread and outlet thread.
- Make sure the connection is properly aligned.
- Check the sealing washer.
- Reconnect and hand-tighten securely.
Condition 4: Water does not come from one outlet
What to Check
Check the position of the Valve Switch on that side.
Each Valve Switch independently controls its corresponding outlet.
Make sure the required valve is in the open position.
