RAINPOINT DC551 – Installation & Use

This article explains how to install, remove, and replace compatible nozzle heads on the RAINPOINT DC551 DIY Hose Nozzle and how to connect the nozzle to a garden hose.


Installation Instructions

All compatible DC551 nozzle heads use the same basic installation method.

Step 1: Align the Lock Icons

Locate the lock icons on:

  • The hose nozzle body
  • The interchangeable nozzle head

Align the two lock icons.

Step 2: Insert the Nozzle

Push the nozzle straight into the nozzle body.

Continue pushing until you hear a clear: “click”

The click indicates that the nozzle has been installed correctly. 


Removing a Nozzle Head

To remove an installed nozzle:

  1. Hold the DC551 securely.
  2. Press and hold the nozzle release button on the gun body.
  3. Pull the nozzle straight outward.
  4. Once removed, another compatible nozzle can be installed.

Do not force or twist the nozzle sideways during removal.


Replacing a Nozzle

To switch nozzle heads:

  1. Remove the currently installed nozzle.
  2. Select the desired replacement nozzle.
  3. Align the lock icons.
  4. Insert the nozzle into the gun body.
  5. Push until a clear click is heard.

The manual states that all compatible nozzle heads use this same installation method.


Connecting the DC551 to a Garden Hose

European Setup

Push the compatible quick connector onto the garden hose until it locks securely.

Then connect the DC551 to the quick connector.

US Setup

For the US configuration:

  1. Install the 3/4" GHT Hose Connector onto the garden hose.
  2. Tighten the threaded connection securely.
  3. Connect the nozzle using the quick connector.

If the threaded hose connection leaks, check the rubber washer before reinstalling the hose connector.


Before Turning On the Water

Check that:

  • The nozzle head is fully installed.
  • The lock icons were aligned during installation.
  • A clear click was heard.
  • The O-rings are present and undamaged.
  • The garden hose connection is secure.
  • Water pressure does not exceed 116 PSI.
