Proper maintenance helps keep the RAINPOINT ITV120 1-Zone Digital Water Timer operating reliably and can help extend its service life.

Cleaning the Inlet Filter

The inlet filter helps prevent dirt and debris from entering the timer and causing blockages or reduced water flow.

How to clean the filter:

1. Turn off the garden faucet and remove the timer.
2. Remove the filter from the water inlet.
3. Rinse the filter thoroughly under clean running water.
4. Reinstall the filter correctly and make sure it sits horizontally in the inlet.

Maintenance tip:

Clean the filter regularly and replace it if it becomes worn or damaged. If water flow decreases, check the filter for dirt or debris first. 

Winter Storage

The ITV120 should not be used in freezing conditions.

• Remove the timer when temperatures fall below 37.4°F (3°C).
• Drain any remaining water from the timer.
• Store the timer indoors to help prevent freeze damage.
• Keep the timer dry during storage.

Exposure to freezing temperatures may damage internal components.

Long-Term Storage

If the timer will not be used for an extended period:

• Remove the batteries before storage.
• Drain any remaining water from the timer.
• Store the timer indoors in a dry environment.
• Before using the timer again, install 2 new AA alkaline batteries and make sure the battery compartment is securely closed.

After a long period of inactivity, activate the timer valve before normal use. Manual Watering can be used to open and close the valve several times until it operates normally.

General Care Tips

To help maintain proper operation:

• Tighten all connections by hand only and do not use tools.
• Avoid overtightening the connections.
• Use clean, cold water only.
• Keep the inlet filter clean and properly installed.
• Replace the batteries when the low-battery indicator appears.
• Make sure the battery compartment is dry when replacing batteries.
• When possible, install the timer in a sheltered outdoor location to help extend its service life.
• Do not immerse the timer in water or expose it to extreme force or impact.
